Alexander Skarsgård, graphite and charcoal drawing
Medium: Graphite and charcoal pencils
Base: Cartridge paper
Model: Alexander Skarsgård
Texture, texture, texture! Being one of my first recent drawings (before I had all of my tools!), this piece was drawn on regular cartridge paper. As I use very smooth Bristol paper now, in hindsight I believe it was much more difficult to achieve fine detail in this piece as the texture of the paper is quite distinct. I also didn't have the Tombow Mono Eraser that I use now to achieve very small highlighted areas such as hair, lips and eye shine. However, I feel it actually works quite well in this piece as the paper gives it a more 'rugged' aesthetic.
